The Discovery of the First Polestar in Ningbo: Clever Designs. Driving: 90 points, Appearance: 99 points, Interior: 92 points, Intelligence: 80 points.
At the beginning of 2023, I planned to buy an additional electric vehicle. Mainly considering safety, range, and good looks, these three were the key factors; intelligence was just a bonus.
1. At first, I lurked in the Cadillac Lyriq group and various apps for a year. I almost got 1K points by clocking in on the IQ APP (recently I exchanged the points for a toy car model) ??. Seeing the price start from 500,000 yuan, I found many problems in the group. However, its design and appearance were unbeatable. I planned to place an order when the 2024 model came out. Unfortunately, what came was a cut - down version with the battery capacity reduced. Forget it, I didn't buy it in the end.
2. The second option I considered was the Mercedes - Benz EQE SUV. It was good - looking and had a decent range, but I just didn't find it entirely pleasing to the eye. After the recent fire at the 4S store, I completely gave up on it.
3. The third one was the Genesis GV60. It was good - looking and easy to drive, but I was worried that it might be recalled by the dealership someday, so I've been hesitating.
4. Initially, the price of the Polestar 4 didn't impress me. Later, it had a price cut. After comparison, by chance, the consultant contacted me and asked me to go for a test drive. I didn't drive it. As a tech - savvy person, I decided to do more research.
II. Car - buying Experience
1. The final decision to place an order was due to the emergence of a bug. I placed the order on November 20th. After many twists and turns, I finally picked up the car on January 5th, 2024. Polestar's delivery service was good. Everything from picking up the car to getting the license plate was well - arranged.
2. I bought the white dual - motor PLUS version with Nappa interior. I didn't choose the high - performance version as I don't race. The wheels and calipers are really good - looking.
3. I bought the car in Hangzhou and drove it back to Ningbo on the highway after getting the license plate. The whole journey, I drove at a speed between 90 - 130 km/h. It was very comfortable to drive, without the common problems of electric vehicles in ride - hailing services. I give the assisted driving experience 80 points. Lane - changing, following, and acceleration were all okay. I deducted 20 points because the car swayed slightly during the round - trip, which was probably due to the unreasonable sensitivity settings of the program (commonly known as "drawing a snake" in the group).
III. Driving Feelings. I'll share my thoughts after driving it for a while.
1. Let's first talk about those clever designs. The design of opening and closing the frameless doors is very well - thought - out. The glass will automatically go up and down when opening and closing the door, which not only protects the glass but also prevents water from getting in.
2. The charging port cover also opens and closes smoothly. Compared with a certain model, it's as delicate as a cabinet at home.
3. The welcome ceremony when approaching with the UWB key is very impressive. It unlocks slowly. (PS: Why can't the key come with a case? It gets scratched so easily.)
4. You can leave the card key in the car. You can open the door and close the windows with your phone, and you can leave the physical key at home without carrying it around.
